3.6 SetthebackofthespringholderatreferencemarkB,Figure1,
andtightensetscrewsrmlyandevenly.Therotatingcomponent
assemblyisnowintheproperpositiontoprovidethecorrectsetting
andspringcompressionfornalassembly.
3.7 Lightly lubricate O-ring or Duraex stationary face gaskets.
3.8 Press the stationary face into the gland (exiblymountedface
only).Usehandpressureonly.WhereafacehasanO-ringmounting
onthebackshoulder,itisusuallybettertonestthisO-ringintothe
glandcavityandthenpushthefaceintothenestedO-ring.
3.9 Wipe the seal facescleanwithalcoholbeforecompleting
equipmentassembly.Sealfacesshouldnotbelubricated,
butshouldbeleftcleananddry.
3.10 Position the glandtothefaceofthesealhousing.Besurethe
glandpilotisproperlyengaged.Tighten the gland stud nuts
evenly,crossstaggertheadjustmentofthenuts.Followthe
equipmentmanufacturer'srecommendationsforglandstudnut
torque.Intheabsenceofrecommendations,glandnutsshould
onlybetorquedtoestablishaleaktightsealattheglandgasket.
Properglandboltadjustmentisespeciallyimportantwithclamp
stylestationaryfaceswhereexcessivetorquemaydamagetheface.
